Our Factories

Production at our factories

We work with 2 small factories in India. Rujuta, personally, visits both locations a couple of times a year. She works with the whole team during sampling and production. Over the years, Rujuta has built strong personal relations with, not only the owners, but with the whole team; from the merchandisers, to pattern makers, to tailors. They often sit together as a whole team over lunch, and share life stories!

The most important element to us is producing the best quality in our products. We want our pieces to be staples in our customer's wardrobes that they keep going back to season after season, and year after year. This is why sourcing quality textiles and working with the best artisans out there is so crucial in making these timeless pieces. Our goal is to educate our customers to invest in key pieces for their wardrobe, shop quality over quantity, and to buy classic and comfortable pieces rather than season trends.

When the factories first receive our fabrics, the first step is to check the quality of the textiles before being cut into the pieces. All aspects of production are done here; including all of the sewing, pressing, trims, and more. Every garment is inspected before it is shipped out.

Friends Factory, Delhi, India

Rujuta met the owner of Friends Factory, Vaarun, while studying at FIT. Vaarun started his own line of Ethical Mens Clothing, and set up a small factory to produce solely for himself. Shortly after, Rujuta launched her first collection, and reached out to him for help.

Friends factory has grown from 3 to 20 employees since we began working together, but still small enough that Rujuta knows everyone by name! A few other small sustainable brands also produce at the same factory All the designers have crossed paths somewhere from college to their careers today; hence the name, Friends Factory.

The factory provides a spacious environment, surrounded with windows and lots of lights to work in. Since Dehli, India is very polluted, there are air filters around the studio to make it a great working environment. They provide equal opportunity for men and women, and fair wages.

Blank Studio, Banglore, India

Blank Studio's ethos is that the best things are made by hand, not big warehouses or heavy machines. This factory is a small, women run studio that believes in responsible production. Rujuta connected with the owner, Shivangi, on Instagram. She went to visit the facilities and fell in love with their mission and work.

Not only does Blank Studio provide a clean, open, safe working conditions with fair wages and hours, but they also help train women to enhance their stitching skills so that they can be the sole, financial provider for their families.
